recombinant human SCCA 1 (rhSCCA1, rhB3)
Member of the Ov-serpin family. Regulates apoptosis, cellular chemotaxis and epidermal barrier function [1,2]. Potent cross-class inhibitor of mammalian, bacterial and parasite cysteine proteinases (e.g. cathepsins L,S,K; staphopains cruzain and CPB2.8) [3,4]. May also function as a receptor for the hepatitis B virus [5].
